A interesting Fact:

In the study, led by Serena Tonstad, African-American participants who followed a vegetarian diet and exercised at least three times a week significantly reduced the risk of diabetes. Vegan African-Americans had a 70% reduced risk of diabetes, while lacto-ovo African-American vegetarians, had a 53% reduced risk of diabetes. In addition, African-American participants who exercised three or more times a week had 35% less chance of diabetes. The findings used prospective data of 7,172 black Seventh-Day Adventists participating in Adventist Health Study-2.
